Uccle is rarely the small city garden. Here, we often work with space, ancient trees, and relief. Here is what we encounter most — and our way of responding to it.
Hills and sloping land — Namur is a city of relief. On the heights, we work on levels, terraces, and retaining walls before thinking about the decor.
Banks of the Sambre and Meuse — In the valley bottom, alluvial soils and proximity to water. We design with humidity and flood risk, not against it.
From city garden to hillside garden — From the dense centre to the elevated neighbourhoods, the exposure and scale change completely. We adapt.
A robust palette — Drier summers, sometimes poor soils on the heights: we favour resilient plants, as the City has done by greening the Confluence.

The citadel and its gardens
Fortress perched at the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse, remodelled by Vauban. Its heights house a vast arboretum — over 125 labelled specimens — and thematic gardens such as the Garden of Scents. A bubble of greenery above the city.
The Confluence (the Grognon)
The point where the Sambre meets the Meuse, recently re-vegetated: an urban "undergrowth" of chestnuts, hornbeams and maples mixed with species resistant to tomorrow's climate. A textbook case of urban greening.
Louise-Marie Park
Established at the end of the 19th century on the site of the old ramparts, this two-level park features water features reminiscent of moats, an artificial cave and a picturesque bridge. Romanticism in Namur.

We took some very mineral places in the city and imagined them greener. A projection, not a project — but a real question: what if we dared?
