Frequently asked questions
Should one choose a single style of garden?
Not necessarily. Many successful gardens combine two complementary atmospheres — for example, a contemporary heart near the house and a more naturalistic area at the back of the plot.
How can I know which style suits my house?
The style of the building gives a first indication, but it is not an absolute rule. An old house can perfectly accommodate a contemporary garden, and vice versa. We assess this during the consultation visit.
Which style requires the least maintenance?
Gravel and mineral gardens, contemporary gardens, and naturalistic gardens are the least demanding in terms of regular maintenance — provided they are well designed from the start. An English garden, on the other hand, requires much more attention.
Which styles work best in the Belgian climate?
All, as long as the plants are well selected. Naturalistic, contemporary, and Flemish atmospheres are particularly suited to our temperate and humid climate.
Can an existing garden be transformed into a new style?
Yes, and this is actually the majority of our projects. A gradual transformation allows for the preservation of valuable trees and structures, and brings a new identity to the garden without starting from scratch.
